General info

If you plan to travel around Montenegro during long time (1-2 weeks and more, not 1-2-3 days) I recommend buying MTEL SIM card with 500 GB Internet per month at any kiosk by 10-15 EUR per month.

MTEL definitely works in Serbia and Bosnia without any additional manipulations or surcharges.

If you plan to be in Montenegro short time you can ask WI-FI password in any cafe or bus station and connect to internet free

Please note.
I know all world use whatsApp messenger but in travelling I usually solve all my task and find any answers of any questions only in telegram groups in every country and every city. Telegram has groups in each city / country. You can write city or country name and join in 3-5 groups where you can ask any questions and other local people help you. I don't understand why so many travelers don't use telegram messenger. I really recommend to do it. You can load the Telegram app by link for Android or iPhone

Please note. ATMs in Montenegro charge a fee of 5 EUR for cash withdrawals. I recommend taking cash and card because you can’t pay by card in some places. For example, if you want to take a bus between cities not at the final official bus station in the city, but at an intermediate stop, then you only need to pay in cash. Even at official bus stops, the terminal very often does not work and you have to pay in cash. The situation is the same in a cafe, you can eat and only then find out that the terminal in the cafe does not work and no one told you about this before ordering food. In large supermarkets they always accept cards, in small stores 50/50 you can sometimes pay by card, sometimes only cash.

Various people who go from one city to another can pick you up along the way. Payment is only cash. Normal price between cities is 5-10 EUR per person. If somebody offer you price 20-30 EUR, you will know that it's driver taxi

Hitchhiking works in Montenegro. You can just catch a car and get there for the price of a bus or for free, as agreed with the driver.

You have 2 options

Taxi. Many taxi driver will ask you on the entrance in the Podgorica airport. You can discuss and decide with what taxi price you can go to city. If you have heavy luggage it's a ideal way. It can cost 30-50 EUR, as agreed. Always bargain with taxi drivers if you want to save money.
